Still well

The last few days some of my coworkers have been goading me into eating more Skittles - been about a week-and-a-half now sans those colorful little sugar pills. MMMMMMMMMMMM. Sugar. OK back to reality now. I do have a sweet tooth, but a few weeks ago at work I ate too many of those candy pieces and I pretty much couldn't get anything done for about 2 hours. Please people. NO MORE SKITTLE FOR MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! I hope your happy busybee216 that the Vikes are terrible!!! The pack lost too BTW!!!!!! Go figure - the Lions almost beat the Patriots. I think the Vikings will beat the Lions this weekend, but I wouldn't be surprised it the Lions won.

Still have our prodigious snow pack here in my neighborhood - meaning a little pile (and by little I mean about a bowl of cereal amount-sized snow pile. Where is winter! The snow I mean?!?!?!?

Doing well

I think it has been about a week now without drinking any soda or eating any Skittles. Of course I haven't eliminated all sugar from my diet - that would be very difficult to do since ALOT of foods have some sugar in them. I did buy some "reduced sugar" cereal last week - Trix. I have to say that I do feel somewhat better.

WHERE'S THE SUGAR?!?!?!?!??!?!?!??!?

The last two days I have cut down on my sugar intake somewhat. I have not had a can of soda for a couple of days now. Or "pop" for us Minnesoooooohtans. Nor am I "fixin' for a coke." No Skittles! No calorie-laden sport shakes. No ice cream. No just dipping my hooves into the sugar jar either. I would like to see what would happen if I can cut out as much sugar as possible from my diet. That might be tough since ALOT of foods have some sugar added to them.

A nice Wednesday

Last night and today I have been sensing a fairly nice state of contendedness and peace. Not sure exactly why, but I thank God for it. There have been some nice blessing in my life over the last week or so. Today is my birthday and I have received alot of really great birthday cards and an ecard since last weekend! Today is the 22nd, and, funny, I am sitting at computer number 22 at the library. Actually I planned it out that way 'cause this computer has Word processing on it.

Nothing real great planned for my birthday today. I am going to try to get outside for a bit before going to work to enjoy this nice warm weather - maybe go for a short bike ride perhaps? Tomorrow is thanksgiving, and I have to work again from 2-10pm, and my family is getting together in the late afternoon, so I will not be able to join them. I will try to call them sometime to check in to see how they are doing. My company will be providing some food, so that will be nice!

Was thinking of doing some early morning shopping on Friday to see if I can get a hold of a nice digital camera and FINALLY move myself into the techno age, but I may end up having to stay late at work Thursday night.

Don't Forget!

So last night I was relaxing on the couch and decided I wanted to watch The Simpsons before heading out again on more errands. They were showing the episode "And Maggie Makes Three" where Homer was telling stories from the time when Maggie (their youngest) was born - and in the process revealed how quickly he lost his hair!!! At the end of the show, Bart (or Lisa) made some comment wondering why there were no pictures of Maggie around. Homer said that he has them right where he needs them. The show then cut away to a shot from Homer's workstation at the nuclear power plant with the wall of his workspace practically covered with pictures of Maggie. Then there was a shot of Maggie's pictures over a plaque which read "Do it for her".

Oh, the plaque originally stated in cryptic fashion "Don't forget: you're here forever."

Homer ended up working at the nuclear power plant (this is his second time around at the plant, BTW) 'cause he needed the money when he lost "dream job" at the bowling alley. When he went back to work at the plant, Mr. Burns (his cantankerous boss) gave him this plaque as a reminder of his place in the plant. Over time, Homer placed pictures of Maggie all over the walls and the plaque in his workspace. The placement of Maggie's pictures on the plaque turned Monty Burns' fatalistic pronouncement into an encouragement to keep moving forward and to do what he was doing for Maggie (and Bart and Lisa of course).

Sporadic Updating Machine Warning!

I noticed that I didn't update my blog for about a week, and then I have posted several times over the last few days. That is the way it is going to be. Somedays there is just no inspiration, and other days......

I went to visit my grandmother today. She made me lunch, and then we played some board games. We played several rounds of Sequence, and then a few games of Trionimos. We usually play those games when we get together. Grandma suggested going downstairs to play bingo, but then she said that because I am a guest, I am "not allowed to win." Seems that sometime in the past when guests were allowed to compete, someone brought in their whole family, and this family won alot of games and took all the best prizes. I am proud of my grandma - she will be turning 90 years old next month. She also survived cancer a few years ago.

Myself and a group of friends were supposed to go downtown to do some street witnessing, but plans fell through. So I am at the library typing this out and checking emails, and then I am going to go run some errandes. I am currently working on finishing/updating my photo album project - something I started 2, 3, or 4 years ago (can't remember)!!!! Back a few summers ago I was redoing all my photo albums, and then I had a MAJOR car emergency, which totally interrupted my project. Since then, I have worked on the project very sporadically. I am going to attempt to make a big dent in the final stages of this project tonight and the next several mornings.

I am thinking of going with a new look. Considering the rave reviews I have received with my Napoleon outfit, I may just dress like that everyday.....

More (mini) Adventures

Last night I went out to Applebee's after work with a few co-workers. I ordered a Kiwi Lemonade and split an order of Mozzerella Cheese Sticks with Tom, and Tom and Mike ordered a few beers and Buffalo Wings. It was fun. I love the cheese sticks, but I won't eat the wings 'cause I cannot tolerate the smell of the sause they use. I do not likea the sauce! My other co-workers got together yesterday afternoon for some touch football, but I was on shift so I couldn't play. My co-workers are funny. As I was leaving work last night, Carrie (who was working a double) says, "Dan, stay and play with us!" Jeremy made up a Napoleon Dynamite scene with my picture on it (see previous post). Alan has made many fun pictures of myself and other co-workers on his personal website.

I am off for a few days now. I may go visit my grandma tomorrow. I am also planning on meeting with a few friends Wednesday night to do some street witnessing. Back to work Thursday. I have been working alot of quick-turns and doubles this summer and fall, and thankfully I can report that all my shifts this coming week are all at the same time - no doubles or quick-turns! WooHoo!!!!!
